PREDICTED FINISH TIME:
Last year I just ran to finish and this year I am running to finish in 4:15 or better.
WHY IS THE BANK OF AMERICA CHICAGO MARATHON
A SPECIAL RACE FOR YOU?
We lived in Chicago for eight years while I attended National College of Chiropractic and got started in my chiropractic career.
Both of our sons were born at home in the western suburbs before we moved to Indiana. We love Chicago and visit it often!
ARE YOU RUNNING FOR A CAUSE OR IN HONOR OF SOMEONE?
I am running for the cause of spreading the word of chiropractic and raising money to provide chiropractic
care to people that otherwise would be without any type of care.
DO YOU HAVE ANY FUNNY OR INSPIRATIONAL TRAINING STORIES TO SHARE?
As I said earlier, I used to run a lot and was very good at it. In fact most of the races I ran I was a seeded runner.
Then about 8 -10 years ago I severely pinched a nerve in my back working around the house. I developed foot drop and
could barely walk and this all happened very quickly. I went from being an excellent runner to barely being able to do
a comfortable walk. For many weeks, I know I was in more pain than most of the patients I was treating each day. Now,
thanks to chiropractic care, I am back running and riding my bicycle on a regular basis. I look forward to completing my
second marathon in the name of chiropractic. I love and honor my profession daily and the things it has allowed me to do
in my life and the lives of my patients. Go team chiropractic!
DO YOU HAVE ANY WORDS OF ADVICE FOR FIRST-TIME MARATHON RUNNERS?
Run within yourself, be positive and enjoy the experience. Many people only dream of completing a marathon but most
don't even have the courage to toe the line. You are special just to finish.
