WHY IS THE BANK OF AMERICA CHICAGO MARATHON A SPECIAL RACE FOR YOU?
In March of this year, I was really struggling. I had developed lower back pain that was crippling my life. Soon after, I began having shooting pains in my right arm into my wrist. I was in pain while sitting or standing, and I wanted to give up. I was gaining weight rapidly, and I had horrible cramps in my side every time I would try to sing. Over a series of events, I began a revolutionary treatment called upper cervical care. Not knowing anything else but our flawed US health system, I was reluctant to receive this care. It was so logical, but yet so unheard of. Within a month not only has my back completely healed itself, but I have also lost 20 lbs., and have not experienced any side cramps. I truly believe that upper cervical care is a gift from God. I am so blessed to be able to run a marathon that will not only bring awareness to this great cause, but it will also generate funds to support this treatment in changing lives around the world!

IS THIS YOUR FIRST MARATHON?
Yes!

ARE YOU RUNNING FOR A CAUSE OR IN HONOR OF SOMEONE?
Absolutely! I am running for my sister Holly, and so many like her who have had chronic back pain for years. When she was about 13, she had metal rods put in her back to correct the curves in her spine. Ever since that surgery, she has struggled with intense back and neck pain. About a month ago, she began receiving upper cervical treatment. A few days later, she had the first pain-free day in years!!! That was so monumental for us! I cannot wait to see how God will use this treatment to give life-changing health to so many who are hurting.

HAVE YOU HAD TO OVERCOME ANY PERSONAL CHALLENGES IN YOUR TRAINING THAT WILL MAKE FINISHING AN EVEN GREATER SUCCESS?
I am not a runner, so even thinking about 26 miles and some change is very challenging. However, with God's help and knowing that I am running with a purpose, crossing that finish line will be an absolute accomplishment!

ARE YOU TRYING TO IMPROVE YOUR HEALTH OR CHANGE YOUR LIFESTYLE?
I am really trying to focus on taking care of myself. I know that there are so many people out there that need help, and I can better serve them if I am physically, mentally, and spiritually focused. God has amazing plans for all of us, and I don't want to miss out because of poor choices...I want to see what He has in store for me:)

DO YOU HAVE ANY FUNNY OR INSPIRATIONAL TRAINING STORIES TO SHARE?
I have a motto that might technically qualify for both: I am slow, but I have heart!

ANY WORDS OF WISDOM FOR FELLOW RUNNERS OR ANYTHING ELSE YOU'D LIKE TO SHARE?
I am so proud to be on a team with so many people who are selflessly training and giving of their time to help people. I am blown away by not only our dedicated team of runners, but also the generosity of those who are sponsoring! I can't wait to see how God will use this race! Keep it up Team NPCO!
