Featured Runner for August 2009

RUNNER PROFILE: Reza Baluchi
AGE: 35
MARATHON EXPERIENCE: Expert
OCCUPATION: Runner
HOMETOWN: Iran

WHY IS THE BANK OF AMERICA CHICAGO MARATHON A SPECIAL RACE FOR YOU?
I love running, it allows me to reach out to people around the world and help everyone unite for a common cause: peace. Running is my release and some days you will find me running just 25-35 miles, other days I run 55-70 miles and on my long runs, you can find me running close to 100 miles per day.

ARE YOU RUNNING FOR A CAUSE OR IN HONOR OF SOMEONE?
Similar to NPCO, I want to help those less fortunate around the world. I want to share my story with everyone, my story of peace and harmony. I love children and want to help improve their lives whether it is by chiropractic care or better schools or cleaner water. I run with children in my heart and do what I can to help make their lives happier to show that we can make a difference if we set aside our differences and work together.

WHAT ARE SOME OF YOUR CURRENT PROJECTS?
I will be running from Los Angeles, California to New York, New York in 45 days or less with the hopes of breaking the Guinness Book of World Record time of 47 days. I start running August 16 and will end my run in New York and hopefully getting the USA flag signed by President Obama. After the LA to NY run, you will see me representing Team NPCO in Chicago on October 11th.

Following my participation in October's Chicago Marathon, I will begin the journey of a lifetime, a dream of mine that is going to be fully realized: running across the world, through a total of 194 countries. My journey will take five years to complete and will be documented by a film crew and streamed live on my website, www.RunWithReza.org. I will be running around the world for peace!

HOW HAS CHIROPRACTIC HELPED YOU?
I always have Chiropractors that come meet me along my long routes and some of them run with me. They give me extra energy while making my body perform at its' peak. We all share the same goal of spreading the message of peace and harmony.

Please support the Chiropractic profession and my Team NPCO running mates as we work together to promote peace and help the less fortunate around the world with Chiropractic care!
